  Into The Groove

by Paul V.

We’ve talked about Amy Winehouse and her spiraling drug use before, but it looks like the leaked video of her smoking crack just might snap her back into reality. In fact, she just said yes to rehab again, after being given an ultimatum by her U.K. record label, which included not allowing her to appear at the Grammy Awards. If she stays clean for the next few weeks, she’ll be allowed on the Feb. 10 show. Luckily her husband, still in jail awaiting trial, is now clean himself and wants to start over with his wife—without any drugs! We actually — seriously — wish them the best in their recovery!

The trend of ’80s bands reuniting continues, as it’s just been revealed that synth pioneer Vince Clark and powerhouse vocalist Alison Moyet (better known as Yazoo or Yaz) will be teaming up for a short tour of the U.K., in time for the release of the In Your Room box set of their two classic CDs. No word on a U.S. tour yet, but we sure hope it's in the works!

Did you catch that sizzling hot remix/duet of Tone Loc's “Wild Thing” by Peaches? If not, you can grab it on iTunes, and Delicious Vinyl will release a full slate of the label's classic records all this year, as re-imagined by artists like Hot Chip, Spank Rock, Diplo, Bonde Do Role and DJ A-Trak.

We send our well wishes out to singer Lily Allen, who suffered a miscarriage last week. But the British press reports that she's getting back in good spirits, and will begin work on her new CD, and shooting her new TV series, Lily Allen & Friends, for BBC3.

Jane's Addiction may have broken up and reunited more times than we can count, but there are rumblings that the influential alt-metal band might get together again, if only for live shows. In the meantime, Jane’s fans should be on the lookout for a box set CD/DVD combo sometime this summer. It's also been rumored that Scott Weiland will be reuniting with his former Stone Temple Pilots bandmates for a tour in 2008.

Now that the train-wreck known as American Idol has started back up, let's check in with former No. 2 Clay Aiken. He recently told the press that he loathes going to bars or clubs, stating “The only reason people go to bars is to get drunk and have sex. To me, bars are what hell is like.” We assume that for Clay, heaven must be the Internet?
