U.K. buzzmaker singer Duffy thinks walking trainwrecks like
Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse are actually good role models,
and believes it’s healthy for fans to see their idols’ flaws
because it shows that everybody has problems in their lives.
She said: “In a really weird way, I think those kind
of people show others it's all right to be human — for
all their faults.”
It’s probably hard to believe, but Mariah Carey now
has more number one singles than Elvis Presley! Her latest
stripper anthem, er, single, “Touch My Body,” just
became her 19th chart topping song (Elvis maxed out at 18).
She is now only two more away from surpassing the Beatles,
who have a whopping 20 number ones under their fab four belts.
The Lollapalooza 2008 lineup has been revealed, and the
talent booked for the festival is excellent. On the bill:
Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, the
Raconteurs and Kanye West are the headline names, while Gnarls
Barkley, Bloc Party, Cat Power and Girl Talk (among many
others) round out the list. The three-day event takes place
Aug. 1-3 in Chicago’s Grant Park
It looks like the celebrity Scientology circus keeps on
rolling, as Jennifer Lopez (who is inches away from fully
converting) just asked Tom Cruise to be the godfather to
her twin babies. There are reports that Cruise spent around
$200,000 on gifts and designer clothes for the newborn twins.
If you were singer John Mayer, and possibly wanted to explore
your “bi” side, what guy would you make out with?
Brad Pitt? George Clooney? Well, according to gossip queen
Perez Hilton, he was the lucky recipient of the kissing—tongue
included—when he and Mayer were at NYC’s Stereo
nightclub in 2006! Perez actually took a lie detector test
on the game show The Moment Of Truth to prove it. We’ll
see what the results are soon, but I think I just threw up
in my mouth a little.
