In honor of he centenary of her birth, and the issue of a
stamp with her image, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
film program devotes the month of May to the incomparable
Bette Davis. “Fasten Your Seatbelts: The Essential
Bette Davis” includes screenings of 20 films, starting
tonight with Jezebel, the 1938 drama that earned Davis an
Oscar for her portrayal of a convention-defying Southern
belle in Civil War-era New Orleans. Check the website for
