Britney
Spears is back in the news, now claiming that someone stole
and posted the exclusive pix of her new baby on www.tangiblebrit.com
-- the same pictures she was planning to sell to the highest
bidder. Pals of Brit are also fearing for her financial future,
as hubby Kevin Federline is reportedly said to be spending
a fortune setting up a dance academy -- with the Jackson family!
... Speaking of those zany Jacksons, is Janet Jackson secretly
a ... mother? Janet, once briefly married to James DeBarge
in 1984, supposedly also had a daughter with him. According
to Young DeBarge, his niece (named Renee and now 18) has been
living all this time with Rebbie Jackson, Janet's oldest sister.
Janet's camp was unavailable for comment. Hmmm ... Goldfrapp
hopes to tide over their U.S. fans with a new EP. Number 1
features the title track, two remixes of the song, and new
tracks "Beautiful," "All Night Operator,"
and "Ooh La La." Look for the EP in stores Nov.
1, and March 7 for their full-length album, Supernature ...
Fatboy Slim and David Byrne have teamed up to bring the story
of Imelda Marcos to music. The DJ and the former Talking Head
are writing a theater score about the former Philippines first
lady and her love of music, nightclubs, and of course -- shoes!
A March 2006 premiere is expected ... Some top-name musicians
have specially designed lunchboxes on the auction block to
raise funds for The Lunchbox Fund/Foodbank NYC. R.E.M. had
the latest to go up for bids, and Coldplay's Chris Martin
outbid Bono to claim it. David Bowie's lunchbox went on the
block last week, and Bono and The Edge are among the others
who will have theirs auctioned off, too ... A judge in Northern
California issued an arrest warrant for Victor Willis, the
Village People's original policeman singer, for skipping out
on a court hearing. The erstwhile macho man was arrested in
July (by real cops) at a traffic stop -- allegedly holding
crack cocaine, a loaded pistol, and drug paraphernalia. Willis
posted $100,000 bail and has remained free since. His lawyer
claims his client bailed because he's "scheduled for
surgery," yet has no info on his whereabouts. Calls to
the local YMCA and Navy recruitment center turned up nothing
... And finally, be sure to get tickets to the super cool
WEDROCK benefit, happening on Nov. 7 at Avalon. I'll be DJing,
along with appearances by Margaret Cho, Nina Hagen, Alan Cumming,
John Cameron Mitchell, Andy Bell, Kelly Osbourne, and Yoko
Ono. Tickets can be had by calling 800-494-TIXS.
