I'm Dreaming ... It's Another Christmas!

Despite the fact that the holiday season appears to be arriving
depressingly sooner every year, we all must make the best
of waxing the holly jollys. There is no better place to haul
in the holly than at the Pantages Theatre (6233 Hollywood
Blvd.), where nostalgia is busting out of the seams in Irving
Berlin's White Christmas. This all-new stage adaptation
of the beloved classic film that starred Bing Crosby and
Danny Kaye has arrived in Hollywood, bringing a new holiday
tradition to the theater, running Nov. 28 through Jan. 1.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago), Irving
Berlin's White Christmas tells the tale of two showbiz buddies
putting on a show at a Vermont Inn and finding their perfect
mates while they're at it (surprisingly, not each other).
Many Irving Berlin classics are showcased in this new production,
including "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Sisters," "How
Deep is the Ocean" and the unforgettable title song
made classic by crooner Crosby. Irving Berlin's White Christmas
debuted in 2004 in San Francisco, and plays during the holiday
season each year in a different city, bringing laughter,
dance, and some of that slick, schmaltzy holiday charm that
the film has delivered for generations. So, this year, leave
the holiday humdrum behind and drudge up some of that holiday
nostalgia -- it definitely helps surviving the season. For

Gay Holiday Nostalgia
Speaking of needing holiday tradition and nostalgia to get
your sleigh bells ringing, there is no better place for gay
holiday cheer than the traditional holiday visit to see the
gay holiday queers themselves: Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles.
Join the Gay Men's Chorus in A Touch of Brass: A Classy,
Brassy Holiday Extravaganza, marking the first show of their
27th year running Dec. 17-19 at the Alex Theatre (216 N.
Brand Blvd., Glendale). With brass-a-blowing, boys-a-singing,
and the chorus' trademark creativity and flair, this is the
don't-miss gay holiday event of the season. Conducted by
Dr. Bruce Mayhall, the chorus will be covering many holiday
traditions, from classics like "We Wish You a Merry
Christmas," to a new set of Spanish carols, to a Sephardic
Hanukkah arrangement. The chorus will also bring to this
holiday concert an all-new, never-before-seen rendition of "Twas
the Night Before Christmas" as done by the magical and
always extraordinary "Foamettes"! For tickets and
information, call 1-800-MEN-SING (800-636-7464), or visit
