A Peek Inside Adult Video with Mickey Skee

Perhaps it was one of the sexiest 70th birthdays ever -- master director Jerry Douglas had a swinging party in Manhattan with some of the porn elite. It was a week after Chi Chi LaRue celebrated her own rip-roaring birthday in WeHo, sponsored by Channel 1 Releasing which handed out a bag full of goodies to every attendee. LaRue showed off her new talent spinning records ("I love doing this, it's a lot more fun than going up there singing," she told me.) So, like Rosanna Arquette and Traci Lords, the drag diva of porn is sharing her musical talents in clubs and some of those groovy tunes were downloaded for her by RuPaul herself. LaRue was itching to get to the Big Apple with her fine entourage to club it with the boys and go to Jerry's party.

In his Riverside Drive apartment, Jerry and his partner hosted a dressy soiree which mixed some of his playwright and actor friends from 1970s Broadway, as well as the porn stars of today. Blond bombshell Brad Patton flew in from Amsterdam to give Jerry a hug and planned on doing some commentary the next day for the upcoming Beyond Perfect DVD, which Jerry says shows "two amazingly talented men who deserve to be called superstars in an age where the term is vastly overused." He's talking about Patton and co-star Jason Kingsley. And although I didn't get a peek, rival director Kevin Clarke said he saw the final scene between the two stars and called it "unquestionably the best sex scene I've ever seen." Wow!

Colt owner John Rutherford and his partner Tom were there, as well as actor/editor Andrew Addams, porn columnist J.C. Adams, and performer Owen Hawk, who's producing his own hot uniform vids under the Dark Alley label and says he has a new one popping out any day.

Pete Ross, the randiest redhead in porn now (also in Beyond Perfect) was at the party with pals, but was caught smooching legendary Steve O'Donnell, the sexy blond known for his Catalina, Falcon, and All Worlds work who moved to Washington three years ago. O'Donnell appeared in Jerry's classics Flesh and Blood and Family Values and tells me, "I'm ready to get back in the business. I'd like to do a video again." Things have changed (now everything's on DVD), but O'Donnell (who has a lucrative job at a toy company) said he's willing to get back in the swing of things with a big Douglas project. He's still got the sparkling blue eyes, strong lanky body, and the ability to turn from a sweet, goofy kid to a leather dominator. I met him in a club in Las Vegas when I introduced him to the very porn directors who were all there now, about a decade later, and he still looks as cute as ever. Fans picked O'Donnell as the New Rising Star at the 1996 Probe Men in Video Awards and he always graciously signed autographs and posed for pix.
